Host / Hostess – Restaurant & Hotel Dining

The Northport Hotel is seeking friendly, professional, and hospitality-driven Hosts/Hostesses to join our team. This is an entry-level position with growth potential, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous restaurant experience is required.

As the first and last impression of our restaurant, our hosts play an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming, and organized guest experience while maintaining the high standards of service our guests have come to expect.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
• Manage reservations and wait lists using OpenTable
• Escort guests to their tables and provide accurate wait times
• Answer phones professionally and assist guests with reservations and inquiries
• Communicate effectively with managers and service staff to ensure smooth table flow
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Help accommodate guest requests while maintaining restaurant standards and reservation policies
• Maintain a polished appearance, positive attitude, and professional demeanor at all times
• Support the team with additional front-of-house duties as needed
• Provide exceptional hospitality and guest service in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Friendly, outgoing, and team-oriented personality
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
• Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Experience with OpenTable is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

The Northport Hotel is a brand new boutique hotel in the heart of historic Northport NY. We offer 26 luxury rooms that feature 5 star amenities and a service experience to match. We are proud to be the home of our 170 seat casual fine dining restaurant serving lunch, brunch, pre theater and dinner 7 days per week.
