Position: Host
Department: Food and Beverage
Performs host duties in support of a restaurant.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Welcoming guest in a warm and friendly manner to the venue.
- Answer incoming phone calls, take reservations.
- Providing accurate wait times and monitoring waiting list.
- Determines the number in their party.
- Observant to guest needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service.
- Seats guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, and placing a clean, current menu in front of them.
- Guides guests through the dining room and provides any needed assistance.
- Assists Food Servers, if necessary.
- Ensures place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting.
- Checks menus to ensure they are current, clean, and plentiful.
- Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Inform guest of current promotion and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff.
- Must be able to control the front door, understanding the capacity and seating diagrams.
- Follows all safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
- Fosters a team environment by working collaboratively with co-workers.
- Displays initiative and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Skill in working courteously with guests as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read and write legibly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to lift forty (40) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Ability to adapt well to an environment that involves large numbers of guests as well as loud and continuous high noise levels.
- Ability to work in a smoking environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must either possess or obtain valid Food Handler’s and Alcohol Awareness cards within three (3) months of employment.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServSafe certification
- Host seating operating system, Open table.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish
