Host/Hostess Job Description:

  • Able to read, speak and write in the English language, to fully comprehend guest requests and needs.
  • This is the perfect job for an individual that loves to be constantly moving. Must be able to self-motivate themselves during slow periods.
  • Ensure professional posture is maintained while in the dining room
  • Familiar with menu items and associated condiments.
  • Serve “Remarkably” by greeting guests with honor, dignity and respect. Must love to smile and connect with all people and invite them to come back
  • Keep guest trays sanitized and stocked, ready for use by expediter during busy periods.
  • Capable of switching tasks swiftly and recognizing what is most important now.
  • As needed, escort our key guests to the table and serve their meal or snack. Key guests are classified as: Mom’s with young children, Elderly, and individuals with special needs.
  • Assist the server during busy periods by delivering meals to tables
  • Scan both the inside and outside dining rooms every 15 minutes to anticipate, address, and identify guest needs. Clearing debris, refreshing beverages or gathering additional condiments.
  • Ensure adequate condiments are neatly available and stocked before and after shift.
  • Empty and refresh dining room trash cans
  • Bus dining room tables and floors to be clear of all debris
  • Clean fingerprint zones off of interior and exterior glass
  • Clean up dining room spills as needed
  • Ensure both the men’s and ladies bathrooms are clean and ready for use. Bathroom supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and hand sanitizer must be stocked and made available at all times.
  • Address guest complaints by applying L.A.S.T. principle: (listen, apologize, solve, and thank!). This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions with a gracious undertone.
  • Exercise random acts of kindness with guests

The Host/Hostess will average 18-20 hours per week. With the proper initiative, this part-time job may evolve to a full-time position. Fridays and Saturdays availability is preferred.

Starting rate of pay is $8.25/hour. Incomplete training is subject to a pay cut.


Compensation: Typical range of compensation is $8.25 to $10.00/hour based on availability, skills, experience and business needs.
