The Host serves as the first point of contact for restaurant guests, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing seating operations and coordinating service activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain professional standards throughout all guest interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in a professional and courteous manner, and escort them to appropriately assigned tables based on party size and station assignments.
  • Present menus to guests and communicate current specials and menu offerings in a knowledgeable manner.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the activities of service personnel to ensure efficient, prompt, and courteous service delivery.
  • Manage break schedules for bus staff and food servers to maintain optimal service coverage throughout shifts.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room while ensuring compliance with all applicable health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate complaints to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest counts, staff attendance, equipment issues, and service-related incidents for each shift.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Professional demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
