The Shack Restaurants takes pride in being a locally owned business providing the Best Wings in our city since 2009! The Shack is not only known for the best wings in town but also for our delicious made from scratch menu items like burgers, appetizers, salads, and more. We offer a great atmosphere with sports, live music venues accompanied with great cocktails, and a great selection of beers.

The Shack Restaurants Hosts provides world-class service. The Shack restaurants are very busy, and the hostess will properly attend to all guests. The role of a Host entitles you to provide friendly, responsive service to create a spectacular dining experience for all our guests. Hosts are required to be welcoming and warm when greeting our guests upon arrival. While also, managing guest list efficiently and in a timely manner to provide the best service.

Responsibilities:

• Promote, work, and conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the mission of THE SHACK RESTAURANTS
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible.
• Inform guests of establishment specialties and features.
• Warmly and graciously greet all guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Record guest names and the number of people in party and provide guests with estimated waiting time when immediate seating is limited.
• Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
• Provide guests with menus and inform them of their server’s name upon seating.
• Engage in conversation with guest during waiting period
• Locate waiting parties when tables become available.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls.
• Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
• Maintain all entrance windows and doors clean, and clean as needed without the directive of a supervisor.
• Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary.
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications:Qualifications for Hostess require obtaining Food Handlers, must be 16 year of age or older. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation: $5.25 per hour
