Germanna Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. As a comprehensive community college, Germanna provides quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities for the residents of the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford. The Hospitality Management Adjunct Instructor delivers high-quality, industry-relevant instruction in hospitality and tourism management. This role supports student learning through effective teaching, assessment, and engagement while aligning course content with program outcomes and current industry standards.

This position is located in Virginia and the candidate can be local or remote.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
  • Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
  • Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS
  • Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.

Essential Functions:
As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the subject area
  • History of successful teaching experience
  • Subject matter expertise, and experience in facilitating learning


Additional Considerations
  • Ability to teach online, and/or willingness to learn and effectively utilize online learning platforms
  • Industry certifications in respective fields
  • Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools
