Job Description
Attends to the Hospitality needs of Spirit Mountain Casino by performing the duties of the following positions as assigned. These positions include the following, but not limited to; Food & Beverage, Mountain View Sports Bar and Amore departments; Bus person, Barista, Kitchen Steward, and Prep Cook. This is a limited duration position of up to 6 months.
Essential Job Functions may include any of the following:
- Learns to provide constant, attentive, and friendly service to customers at all times.
- Learns to clear and wipe tables, chairs, counters, floor, walls, sink and all beverage service units.
- Learns to scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor dishwashing machine.
- May serve as barista by scooping ice cream, making, serving beverages, sundaes, splits, and other offerings.
- May be required to complete transfers, orders, requisitions, waste sheets and monitor product levels for proper inventory.
- Serves and refills beverages, pre-busses and maintains cleanliness, responds to guest requests.
- May measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to prepare food.
- Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits.

Required Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices and processes of food and beverage preparation and delivery.
- Principals, practices and processes of safe food handling and safe work practices.
- Symbols of danger, poison, and hazards.
Required Skill in:
- Providing guest service.
- Serving food & beverages.
- Recognizing and correcting situations that are unhealthy or may lead to poor customer service.
- Ability to communicate information effectively and accurately to internal and external customers, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to operate a computer-based POS system.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three months related experience is preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- Oregon Food Handler's Permit required.
- State of Oregon Liquor Control Commission Server’s Permit.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work is performed in a food service environment, with routine exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or tobacco smoke and occasional exposure to extreme cold or heat and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequently subject to high levels of noise.
- Frequently requires standing and walking.
- Occasionally requires sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently requires use of hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.
