Job Description

Salary Range: $24-26 per hour. This is a Full Time position. Shifts start as early as 5am and end usually between 12noon -1pm.

We are looking for a hospitality superstar to join our Homewood Suites family as our Food & Beverage Supervisor. This team leader oversees our daily complimentary breakfast buffet and Wednesday night reception. We currently offer one of the top Homewood Suites breakfasts in the country and are confident our award-winning, waterfront Liberty Station location is one you’ll be proud to call your work home.

The ideal candidate will have previous food & beverage supervisory experience, knowledge of inventory and ordering, and a can-do attitude.

Each associate is expected to carry out all kitchen operations and reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of fulfilling.

Your Impact:

• Greet every guest with a smile and a friendly hello—within 45 seconds of arrival.
• Serve up personalized, attentive service that makes guests feel like VIPs.
• Set up and maintain a clean, visually appealing breakfast or social hour area—like you're hosting your favorite brunch every day!
• Check food for proper appearance, portion, and temperature, ensuring it’s always guest-ready.
• Clear tables, wipe spills, and keep public areas clean and inviting.
• Handle food safely and follow all sanitation procedures in line with California health regulations.
• Breakdown and clean the service area, return reusable food items to storage, and sanitize counters, floors, equipment, and utensils per hotel and CAL/OSHA standards.
• Respond quickly and kindly to guest requests, questions, or concerns.

What You Bring:

• Friendly, upbeat attitude and guest-first mindset.
• Previous hospitality or food & beverage experience is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (California Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and understand written safety materials (training materials available in additional languages as needed).
• Team spirit—you’re always ready to jump in and help your teammates when needed.

Shifts & Schedule:

• We operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Flexibility is key—we may occasionally need to adjust your schedule based on business needs or weather conditions.
• Weekly hours may vary; some weeks may be under 40 hours, others may exceed 40 hours depending on occupancy.

Physical Requirements

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to:

• Be on your feet—standing and walking—for most of your shift.
• Frequently use your hands for serving, cleaning, and equipment use.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Bend, stretch, reach, kneel, and twist throughout the shift.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment.
