
The Hospitalist Assistant is responsible for providing the department with administrative and physician support services, and performing a variety of clinical and patient-related duties necessary to ensure a smoothly functioning unit. The Hospitalist Assistant works in partnership and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary clinical care team members, toward providing quality patient care and enhanced communications.
Education:
Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited Required -or- Equivalent Experience or Completion of relevant program considered
Experience:
1 year Clerical - Healthcare Environment Required
Certifications/Licenses:
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
Skills:
Knowledge of medical terminology through experience or completion of a course.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
Proficient in EMR or other computer skills. Experience in Epic preferred.
Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team-based environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary health care professionals.
Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment and perform effectively with rapidly changing priorities.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and an excellent phone etiquette.
Demonstrates organization skills with customer and patient focused while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
