We are looking for amazing Pharmacy Technicians to join our team! Open positions may be for primarily first shift, second shift, or third shift for full-time, part-time, or PRN status. Open positions may be filled with Technician I, II or III jobs, depending on applicant qualifications.
Pharmacy Technicians I-III assist Pharmacists in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient. They gather, label, and distribute medications accurately and efficiently; they package, prepare, and safely compound medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently; they handle, manage, and distribute controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies and assist with drug diversion surveillance; they assist with training new pharmacy employees; they assist with maintaining accurate medication inventories and billing of medications; they effectively communicate utilizing established systems and processes; and they perform responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations. They perform duties within their Scope of Practice under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist; they receive direction from their supervisor and other members of the Pharmacy Leadership team; they work cooperatively with other Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, patients, Physicians, Nurses, and other members of the health care team. Pharmacy Technicians III work with regular frequency in more advanced Pharmacy Technician roles, which include but are not limited to: Quality Improvement, Education/ Training, Inventory Management, and Research; and they serve as lead technicians/ super users in pharmacy operations, technology implementations, quality projects, etc.
Please include in your application a copy of your Florida Board Registration. If you are a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT, CHpT-Adv), include a copy of your PTCB or NHA certification. Also include copies of any of the following advanced certificates you have: PTCB certificates (eg, Medication History, Hazardous Drug Management), ASHP certificates (eg, Medication Safety, Practical Training in Compounding Sterile Preparations), or Critical Point certificates (eg, Sterile Compounding and Hazardous Drugs, Best Practices and Compliance with USP 795 for Nonsterile Compounding).
Pharmacy Tech I
High School diploma or equivalent. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) within 12 months of hire (PTCB (preferred) or NHA).
Effectively reads, writes, speaks, and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
The following are preferred: Completion of post-secondary education. Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
Pharmacy Tech II
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of at least 6 months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA.
Effectively reads, writes, speaks, and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
The following are preferred: Completion of post-secondary education. Demonstration of leadership and team building skills. Experience in teaching and / or training.
Pharmacy Tech III
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an Advanced Level ASHP/ACPE-accredited program or at least one year of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Completion of an advanced certificate as defined in the Pharmacy Technician Career Development Model and provided by PTCB (eg, Medication History, Hazardous Drug Management), ASHP (eg, Medication Safety, Practical Training in Compounding Sterile Preparations), or Critical Point (eg, Sterile Compounding and Hazardous Drugs, Best Practices and Compliance with USP 795 for Nonsterile Compounding). Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA.

Experience in teaching and / or training.
The following are preferred: Completion of post-secondary education. Prior experience performing advanced Pharmacy Technician activities.
