About the Role:

  • Maintain the outdoor and indoor areas of Beechworth Health Service in a clean and safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
  • Work effectively within a team environment
  • Effectively and efficiently assist with day to day duties involved in clean accommodation within services areas, laundry and external environment (some manual handling)

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in ability to plan, organise and prioritise work, in an environment with multiple and conflicting demands.
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to the position (e.g. Essential Services, Occupational Health and Safety, Hazardous Substances etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to interact effectively with older people and people of diverse cultures.
  • Initiative and the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
  • Basic computer skills (Office Word & Excel).
  • Current drivers’ licence (Essential).

Desirable

  • Previous cleaning/handyperson experience.
  • Experience working in a health, retirement living, aged care or Not-For-Profit environment.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
