Job Location: The Hospice Shop - Arcata, CA 95521
Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $18.16 - $22.20 Hourly

Travel Percentage: None
Job Shift: DayEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with sorting, tagging and merchandising of donations.
- Answers the telephone and takes accurate messages.
- Operates the cash register. Opens and closes out the cash register as needed and daily cash proof sheets and books.
- Assists customers and responds to customer and volunteer questions and issues as needed.
- Assists Hospice Shop Manager in completing daily retail tasks, as requested.
Environmental Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Working weekends.
- Regularly sitting, standing, walking, talking, use of hands, listening, and observing.
- Regularly working at the cash register 2-4 hours.
- Regularly using the telephone.
- Regularly reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting items weighing 50 pounds or less.

QualificationsMinimum

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience working with the general public, preferably in retail and using a cash register.
- Experience working independently, and with others, including volunteers and staff.
- Highly organized and efficient self-starter who can establish priorities.
- Team player who is flexible.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of acceptable automobile insurance coverage, and reliable transportation as specified by Hospice of Humboldt’s policies.
