Hospice Executive Director
Location: Chicopee, MA

We are seeking an experienced Hospice Executive Director to lead the overall operations of a growing hospice organization in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
The Executive Director will oversee clinical and administrative operations, regulatory compliance, staffing, financial performance, quality initiatives, and business development. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced hospice professional who understands both the clinical mission of hospice and the operational requirements of running a successful agency.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for hospice operations
- Oversee clinical, administrative, operational, and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with CMS, Medicare, state, federal, and accreditation requirements
- Lead and support clinical and administrative department leaders
- Monitor census, admissions, staffing, productivity, expenses, and other key performance indicators
- Develop and execute strategies to support census growth and referral development
- Maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, referral partners, and other healthcare organizations
- Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and promote employee retention and development
- Partner with clinical leadership to maintain high standards of patient care
- Manage budgets and support the organization's financial and operational goals
- Establish a positive, accountable, and patient-focused culture
Qualifications
- Prior hospice leadership experience required
- Previous experience as an Executive Director, Administrator, Branch Director, Director of Operations, or similar hospice leadership role strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, Medicare requirements, compliance, and quality standards
- Demonstrated experience managing hospice operations and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of census development, referrals, staffing, budgeting, and financial performance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- RN license is a plus but not required depending on experience
