Office Location: Troy, OHCoverage area: Beavercreek, Kettering, Springfield and Troy

Schedule: Days, M-F 8a-5p-On Call one week per each psychosocial team rotation, on call for all three of our branches

Ohio Valley Hospice is seeking a compassionate, grounded, and spiritually-sensitive Chaplain in Troy, OH. Our Chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during end-of-life care. Responsibilities

As a Chaplain You will:  

• Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families

• Participate in developing individualized care plans to address spiritual needs

• Provides direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers

• Serves as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors

• Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications

• Attends interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning

• Offers education and spiritual care guidance to the care team

• Recruits and supports community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers

• Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested

• Organizes periodic memorials for staff, volunteers, and community partners

• Assists in supervising spiritual care volunteers

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree)

• Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred

• Comfort in an interfaith setting

• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order

• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values

• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care

• Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group

• Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
