Be a Lifeline for Survivors. Help Break the Cycle of Violence.
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and bilingual HFJC Coordinator to support individuals impacted by domestic violence by providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and coordinated services in a trauma‑informed setting.
In this role, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment for clients, ensure timely access to services, and collaborate closely with community partners, law enforcement, and internal teams to support survivor safety, empowerment, and healing.

What You’ll Do
Client Support & Advocacy
- Provide crisis intervention, short‑term counseling, safety planning, and domestic violence education
- Offer trauma‑informed emotional support to help clients understand the impact of abuse and build coping strategies
- Review available services with clients and connect them to partner agencies and scheduled appointments
Intake & Service Coordination
- Oversee the intake and service inquiry process to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate service delivery
- Collaborate with the Intake Specialist to ensure clients are welcomed, supported, and understand all required documentation prior to signing
- Organize and facilitate Client Care Plan meetings
Collaboration & Community Partnership
- Maintain an ongoing collaborative relationship with the assigned Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Officer
- Respond promptly to supervisors and partner agency inquiries
- Attend meetings as requested by the HFJC Site Manager
Documentation, Data & Compliance
- Generate and maintain intake forms, reports, and required documentation
- Collect, track, and report narrative and statistical data for VOCA, CDBG, and other grants
- Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness
Office & Site Support
- Serve as Safety Officer for the Temple Street office location
- Communicate site maintenance needs and monitor office supply usage
- Attend required trainings, workshops, and professional development activities

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) — reading, writing, and speaking required
- Ability to obtain and maintain Domestic Violence Counselor Certification in accordance with CGS 52‑146K (with annual recertification)
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to use a personal vehicle for agency business
Preferred Experience
- 3–5 years of advocacy and/or direct service experience supporting survivors of domestic violence in a community‑based setting
Skills & Competencies
- Strong crisis intervention, counseling, and safety‑planning skills
- Knowledge of community resources and referral networks
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent written communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and comfort with data tracking and reporting
