POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will teach homebound students, providing a variety of learning services and serving as the liaison between school and home.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides learning experiences in a variety of settings for students unable to attend school due to illness or injury.
2. Serves as liaison between home and school.
3. Maintains appropriate student supervision to provide a safe and orderly learning environment.
4. Implements instructional activities provided by the student's teacher of record.
5. Picks up and delivers student assignments.
6. Maintains appropriate records to document student progress.
7. Maintains a dependable homebound/homebased schedule and positive learning environment.
8. Implement technology for instructional delivery as appropriate.
9. Completes and submits required documentation for payment of services in a timely manner.
10. Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

Required:

1. Minnesota teaching license.
2. Ability to work and communicate effectively.
3. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
4. Demonstrates ability to successfully manage time and materials effectively.
5. Demonstrates ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
6. Behaves in a professional and ethical manner.
7. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
8. Ability to teach up to 25 hours per week including but not limited to regular school hours.
9. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
10. Ability to travel to home and/or community locations.
11. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

Desired:

1. Minnesota K-12 Special Education license.
