Job Description

The Home Mortgage Closing Senior Specialist is responsible for the collection and review of documentation required to prepare closing documents, as well as supporting the coordination of department workflow. This role partners with title companies, escrow agents, attorneys, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely loan closings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review loan files to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate
  • Coordinate with title companies, attorneys, escrow agents, and borrowers to schedule closings
  • Validate loan terms (interest rates, fees, and conditions) against the original loan agreement
  • Prepare Closing Disclosures and closing packages across multiple products, including CEMA, COOP, Portfolio, FHA, CHFA, HELOCs, and HELOANs
  • Ensure compliance with TRID guidelines, including VCC processes, cure avoidance, and timely CD acknowledgment
  • Receive and review closing documents for completeness and accuracy; identify and communicate any deficiencies
  • Partner with customers and account executives to resolve documentation gaps and obtain corrections
  • Reconcile wires and confirm balances with settlement agents prior to funding
  • Review all closing conditions and confirm all funding documents are in place prior to issuing funding authorization
  • Disburse funds following closing in accordance with established procedures
  • Communicate effectively with all parties to support a smooth and timely closing process
  • Pull and review daily pipeline reports to manage workflow and prioritize closings
  • Meet or exceed production expectations of a minimum of 40 loans per month
  • Maintain an average quality score of 95% or higher

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Home Mortgage Closing experience, including complex loan structures and high-net-worth client transactions
  • Advanced knowledge of mortgage products, including portfolio, jumbo, HELOC, and specialized Private Bank offerings
  • Expertise reviewing and interpreting complex ownership structures, including LLCs, trusts, and layered entities
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe tools for reviewing, editing, and ensuring accuracy of closing documents and packages
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, including TRID and Closing Disclosure accuracy
  • Ability to review and validate closing documentation, including operating agreements, trust documents, and title policies
  • Experience coordinating with attorneys, title companies, relationship managers, and clients throughout the closing process
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on document accuracy and quality control
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical closing deadlines
  • Service excellence mindset with a focus on high-touch client experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Private Bank or high-net-worth client segments
  • Familiarity with construction-to-perm, non-agency, or specialized loan products
  • Proficiency with mortgage systems (e.g., Empower) and document preparation tools

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday - 4 days in the office 11-8PM (West Coast Hours) - overtime when necessary
