HUM Home exists to support the people who make homes work.
We place Household Managers in roles that truly fit their skills, values, and season of life. We take the time to understand what kind of home environment you thrive in, the hours you want to work, and the type of family you want to support.
Beyond placement, HUM provides guidance, structure, and best practices that make your work easier and more fulfilling, plus a community of other household professionals, so you’re never doing this work alone.
This is a role for someone who sees a home as a living system.
You walk into a home and immediately know what needs to happen next. You reset spaces without being asked. You create structure where things used to feel reactive. You take pride in laundry done correctly, kitchens that flow, and homes that return to calm every single day.
Daily reset: kitchen, common areas, bedrooms as needed
Laundry management: wash, fold, put away (correctly)
Organization maintenance (home already has systems; you help maintain and improve them)
Restocking and inventory awareness (pantry, fridge, supplies, household goods)
Errands as needed (grocery runs, household pickups
Prep weekly lunches, protein shakes, and ingredients
Coordinate vendors as needed (cleaners, repairs, services)
Vehicle support at a coordination level (car wash, refueling/charging, oil change coordination)
Light pet support (let dogs out/in, kibble, basic routine)
Someone who notices the small things because you know they’re never actually small.
You are:
Extremely detail-oriented and observant
Naturally proactive and anticipatory, handling things before they’re asked
Comfortable working quietly and independently, without needing oversight
Highly trustworthy and respectful of boundaries
Excellent at closing loops and communicating progress
Hospitality-minded, with a true “hotel reset” standard for the home
You take pride in how a space feels not just how it looks.
1+ years of household management experience, family assistant experience, or similar home-operations role
Experience supporting families with school-aged children (parenting experience is a plus, but not required)
Comfortable working in a multi-ethnic household and handling a variety of foods
No food-handling restrictions (must be comfortable with nuts, shellfish, etc.)
Physically capable of active mornings and household movement
Authorized to work in the US

Running a home is a full-time job. HUM makes sure it's done right. We recruit and place dedicated house managers, then go further than anyone in the industry: we build a custom home operating system documenting every preference and standard, train your house manager before they start, and provide ongoing support for as long as it takes. No guesswork. No turnover cycle. Just a home that runs and a family that's closer because of it.
