We are seeking an experienced Head of Home Loans to lead and grow our mortgage lending portfolio. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving sustainable portfolio growth, optimising profitability, ensuring sound risk and compliance management, and delivering exceptional customer experiences across the home financing value chain. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, lead high-performing teams, strengthen key stakeholder relationships, and champion innovation to position the business as a market leader in home financing solutions.

Are you someone who can:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Home Loans portfolio, ensuring alignment with the overall Retail Banking and Group strategy.

  • Drive sustainable portfolio growth through customer acquisition, retention and increased market penetration.

  • Optimise portfolio profitability through effective pricing, lending strategies, risk-adjusted returns and cost management.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and strengthen governance frameworks within the business.

  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving customer experience, operational efficiency and digital adoption across the mortgage value chain.

  • Drive innovation in home financing solutions to meet evolving customer needs and enhance competitive positioning.

  • Strengthen partnerships and stakeholder relationships that support business growth and customer acquisition.

  • Develop and retain key talent within the Home Loans business, ensuring succession readiness and leadership continuity.

  • Deliver strategic projects that contribute to the bank's long-term objectives of sustainable growth, prudent risk management and operational excellence.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience within banking or financial services, with significant exposure to mortgage lending, credit risk management and portfolio leadership.

  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role or leadership role.

  • Proven track record of driving portfolio growth, profitability, operational excellence and customer-centric outcomes.

  • Sound knowledge of banking regulations, governance frameworks and risk management principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
