Job Description

Join our team as a Home & Land Processor, where you will prepare and process loans from applications through clear to close in a timely and efficient manner.

Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a Home & Land Processor to join our team. One position is available. Qualified candidates may work in any available Horizon Farm Credit branch. To view locations, click here Locations | Horizon Farm Credit This position is eligible for a hybrid work scheduled.

As a Home & Land Processor, you will prepare and process consumer real estate loans from application through clear to close in a timely and efficient manner. This will involve reviewing all necessary documentation and following up with borrowers and third parties throughout the loan process. Processors will ensure loan files are accurate and complete, and procedures are followed to deliver loans with compliant documentation.

Areas of Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Process new consumer real estate loans and servicing actions according to Horizon Farm Credit guidelines. This includes loan file set up, issuing compliance documents within required time frame; reviewing credit reports, ordering verifications, flood certifications, appraisals, and title work.
  • Prepare early disclosures, commitment, change of circumstance, and other general loan documents that represent what is outlined in the credit desk approval.
  • Prior to sending to clear to close, confirm loan conditions outlined in the credit desk approval are met and documented.
  • Consult and confirm with Lenders, Analysts, and other involved parties to confirm loan actions are completed accurately.
  • Confirm that collateral is properly identified and secured with the title documents.
  • File all related documents timely, accurately, and consistently to ensure easy reference in the future with all staff.
  • Quality checking all your work to ensure compliance and accuracy; maintaining satisfactory audit and QC review results.
  • Prepare all loan or servicing actions according to applicable processing workflows, procedures, and practices.
  • Meet the target turnaround processing timelines and properly document system to ensure transparent communication for Sales, Loan Operations, and future audit needs.

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, business, or related field.

Experience

Generally, minimum of one to three years of loan processing and documentation experience preferred or training/experience in banking, finance, or legal industries.

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, quality and solution focused.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be collaborative and ability to develop and work well in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and proven self-starter
  • Overall knowledge and willingness to continually study Horizon, AgFirst, and FCA policy and procedure manuals, and overall understanding of legal terms to ensure proper collateral positions are achieved
  • Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serves the best interest of the association and borrower
  • Expected to consistently exhibit values of ACRES as represented in HFC’s Core Values.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Complies with Association’s Standards of Conduct Policy.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Salary Range: $42,600 - $61,300, depending on experience.  Opportunity to earn additional annual bonus incentive.
