The Home Health and Hospice Clinical Educator is key for providing orientation, training, and education for clinical personnel, to ensure consistent standards of practice and competencies in delivery of patient care. In this role you will accomplish this by planning, developing, and implementing educational programs to support new hire orientation, ongoing staff development, and competency evaluation.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Assesses staff training and education needs.Develops and implements education content that is individualized to the learner’s needs

  • Utilizes evidence-based practice to develop, coordinates, maintains, evaluates, and improves the orientation process. Monitors and documents orientation process.

  • Acts as a change agent by introducing and supporting new ideas as well as assisting in the implementation and sustainment of change strategies.

  • Facilitates communication between management, staff, ancillary departments, and professional contacts across the Franciscan Alliance.

  • Serves as a leader to promote the professional growth of peers.

  • Collaborates with agency leaders and Quality and Education Director to perform gap analysis and identify appropriate counter measures.

  • Servers as a reliable resource on education and practice.

  • Performs and reports the gaps between processes, procedures, and system functionality between Current State and Desired Future State Analysis.

  • Supports staff development through a mixed modality of educational opportunities including, in-service, certification training groups, 1:1 sessions, web-based, and virtual formats.

  • Mentors and trains staff in live classroom or virtual settings as well as during in-person shared visits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree- (BSN)- Nursing- Required OR Must be enrolled in a BSN program with a completion date of 18 to 24 months from obtaining position.

  • Master's Degree- Nursing Education/Leadership/Clinical Nurse Specialist- Preferred

  • 3 Years- Nursing/Patient Care Experience- Preferred

  • 2 Years- Department Specific Knowledge Experience- Preferred

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS)- American Heart Association- Required

  • Registered Nurse (RN)- State Licensing Board- Required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- American Heart Association- Required

  • Board Certification (BRD CERT)- Preferred
