Job Description

Are you an experienced mortgage or home equity processor looking for an opportunity with a well-established financial institution known for its strong culture and career growth? We are seeking a Home Equity Processor to join a collaborative lending team and assist members through the home equity loan process from application to closing.

This role is ideal for someone with full-cycle processing experience who enjoys working directly with customers, managing loan files, and ensuring a smooth lending experience.

What You'll Do

  • Process home equity loan applications from start to finish.
  • Manage a pipeline of approximately 25-30 loan files once fully trained.
  • Review income and supporting documentation, including pay stubs and financial records.
  • Order appraisals, flood certifications, and other required documentation.
  • Gather payoff information and verify mortgage-related details.
  • Review mortgagee clauses and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Prepare files for underwriting review and approval.
  • Coordinate and schedule closings.
  • Maintain consistent communication with members throughout the loan process.
  • Partner with teammates to ensure loan pipelines move efficiently and service levels remain high.

Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of full-cycle mortgage processing or home equity processing experience.
  • Experience managing loan files from application through closing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate to meet department goals.
  • Comfortable working in a process-driven environment with performance metrics.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Training & Development

  • Two weeks of side-by-side training focused on systems, processes, and workflow.
  • Ongoing support from an experienced lending team.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly performance feedback to support success and growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
