About the Role:

The Home Care Support Worker is responsible for the delivery of a consumer direct care assistance and support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are frail aged or have a disability to live independently in their home and community.

The key objectives of the role include:

  • A commitment to working with our clients and the community to engage in Consumer Directed Care.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as Domestic Assistance, Personal Care and Social Support.
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and the community.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively manage workload.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Individual Support, Assistance in Health Services.
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality (preferred)
  • A commitment to working with Biripi Aged Care clients and the Community to engage in Consumer Directed Care.
  • Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a culturally aware and sensitive way.
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and the community.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively manage workload.
  • Current valid Driver’s license, minimum of Class “C” or equivalent.
  • Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including National Police Check and Working with Children clearances.
  • Registered vehicle.
