Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· High School graduate or equivalent.
· Must demonstrate competence prior to assignment of home care aide services.Certification as a nurses’ aide will demonstrate competence. Must have proof of completion of an approved Aide Training Course.
· Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
· Must possess a valid Iowa driver’s license and meet satisfactory motor vehicle record requirements.
· Must maintain and provide proof of his/her own auto insurance policy.
· Must complete 12 hours of OBRA training hours per year.
· Must maintain his/her own auto insurance policy.
· Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
· High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others.
· Ability to communicate well verbally.Must work effectively as a member of a team.
· Previous acute or long-term care experience preferred.
· Technical and critical thinking skills required to perform duties.
· Basic computer knowledge.

Pella Regional Health Center is a critical access hospital in central Iowa with integrated family practice, internal medicine providers as well as general surgeons and gynecologists. Pella Regional has medical clinics in five communities (Pella, Knoxville, Ottumwa, Prairie City, Sully and Bussey) and outpatient services like Hospice of Pella and Home Health Care that extend well beyond the walls of the hospital.
