As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Home Care program by ensuring accurate records and providing essential administrative support. Your work will have a direct impact on the efficiency of our team and the quality of care delivered to our clients. Hours: Part-time 25 hours / week

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource by providing information and assistance to clients, staff, and the general public
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Home Care department, including:
  • Preparing productivity reports
  • Monitoring visit completion and physician orders
  • Following up on signatures and documentation
  • Entering and tracking clinical and client data
  • Assist nursing staff with ICD-10 diagnostic code look-ups across Home Care services
  • Coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas and recording/distributing minutes
  • Manage inventory of Home Care supplies, ensuring materials are ordered and maintained appropriately
  • Support new employee orientation and educational events; maintain employee education records
  • Assist with staff scheduling and chart audits
  • Maintain medical record destruction logs and support secure disposal of clinical records in accordance with Good Shepherd policies

QualificationsAdministrative Assistant Qualifications

  • Familiarity with medical terminology required
  • Experience with ICD-10 Diagnostic Coding required
  • Must have post-secondary business related education and/or experience in a business office environment
  • Proficient computer, data entry and typing skills required. Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate both in written and verbal form in English.
  • Self directed
  • Good organization skills
  • Must have good customer service skills
