About the role:

We are seeking a Home and Garden Maintenance Worker who is available to work in Melville and the surrounding suburbs, between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in helping maintain safe, comfortable, and welcoming living environments. The successful candidate will be dependable, adaptable, and able to work independently in clients’ homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow the client support plan at all times and provide home and garden maintenance tasks as described in the plan, including but not limited to: Gutter cleaning, window cleaning, checking smoke alarms, high cleaning (fans, exhausts, vents, top of cupboards/fridges), changing light bulbs and tap washers, tidying overgrown gardens, lawn mowing, whipper snipping and pruning.
  • Report to the Coordinator any changes observed in the client, the home’s safety or other relevant aspects of the home environment;
  • Communicate respectfully with all individuals including clients, representatives, staff and the community.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by involvement in staff meetings, planning days, and feedback mechanisms;
  • Actively participate in education and training requirements;
  • Other duties as requested by the Coordinator.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must have a reliable vehicle with sufficient capacity to safely transport a gutter vacuum and other HGM equipment as required.
  • Experience in providing home and garden maintenance or experience in a trade with transferable skills;
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently;
  • Accurate observation and reporting skills (verbal and written);
  • C class Western Australia driver’s license;
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical;
  • National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old);

Desirable Criteria:

Experience in the aged care or community services sector
