Responsible for performing the delivery, pick up, and maintenance of all types of medical equipment. The incumbent is also responsible for the safe and proper instruction in the use of the equipment. Communicates with a variety of care givers such as nurses, OR personnel, physicians and patients regarding transfer and use of medical equipment. A Brief Overview
Responsible for performing the delivery, pick up, and maintenance of all types of medical equipment. The incumbent is also responsible for the safe and proper instruction in the use of the equipment. What you will do
- Delivers, picks up and sets up medical and related equipment to necessary facilities as assigned with regard to the age specific populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Assures equipment is operating safely and proper training is completed.
- Performs appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of all medical equipment being stored and transferred. Completes preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleaning on delivery vans and warehousing facilities.
- Participates in quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure hospital, DNV, OSHA, DOT, and other quality and safety standards are met.
- Performs other job functions as assigned.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience Requirements
- Required - Medical equipment transfer, storage and cleaning 1-3 years
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- Required - Class A Commercial Driver License - Arkansas Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class D Driver's License - Arkansas - Arkansas Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class B Commercial Driver License - Mississippi Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class B Commercial Driver License - Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class D License with F - Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class A Commercial Driver License - Mississippi Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class D Driver License -Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle
- Preferred - Class A Commerical Driver’s License - Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of supplies, logistics, warehouse or related equipment.
- Some computer skills will be required in this position
- Ability to understand moderately complex written materials, such as geographical maps and patient records and manufacturers specifications and preventative maintenance recommendations.
- Ability to communicate verbally with associates, vendors and others.
- Qualified to be insurable by Methodist Healthcare’s insurance company for driving a delivery vehicle.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
