Job Description

Regions Hospital Histopathology Department is currently seeking a self-motivated, quality focused Histotechnician, Team Lead to join our team. This position requires strong leadership skills as well as the ability to collaborate across teams.

As a Histotechnician Team Lead at Regions Hospital, you will join an innovative and collaborative group of professionals in our newly remodeled laboratory designed for ergonomics and workflow. Our team has also been engaged in developing our new laboratory information system designed to provide efficiency and patient safety.Your work will support Regions Hospital as well as six other suburban hospitals and over twenty clinics in our network.

As part of our team as the Team Lead, you will:

  • Ensure and maintain high reliability, integrity, and functionality of all test systems within assigned lab discipline across HealthPartners laboratory sites.
  • Coordinating daily operations to meet service expectations and established laboratory goals.
  • Performs and coordinates specimen receiving, accessioning, laboratory processing and testing in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Ensures team adherence to laboratory policies and maintains compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
  • Actively engages teams in quality assurance activities and promotes a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders.
  • Participates in planning and implementing policies, procedures and staffing to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality personalized patient care and customer service.
  • Works under the direction of the Laboratory Operations Supervisor to assist in evaluation and implementation of new processes, test methodology and instrumentation.
  • Participates in HealthPartners hospital and ambulatory technical teams and other committees as appropriate.

Work schedule: FTE: 1.0, Day/Evening shift

Required Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree in Histotechnology or related areas with 5 years’ experience working in an Anatomic Pathology/Histology laboratory in the recent 10 years or equivalent education/experience.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: HT (ASCP) certified or eligible. Must attain certification within 12 months of hire.
