As a Histology Technician, you would be responsible for the triage of specimens including proper identification and computer data entry; assists Pathologist in the Gross Room including the performance of frozen sections and accurate set-up of tissue specimens; operates and services equipment according to manufacturer's recommendation; transports specimens from and performs frozen sections at ancillary sites; processes, embeds, and cuts tissue specimen; performs routine and special stains; maintains QC and workload data; maintains a clean work area; sends specialized testing out to reference labs; maintains archival slide/block files; and troubleshoots issues. Must have an understanding of Histology, Anatomy, and Immunohistochemical procedures.
