Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

This is NOT a telework position

The incumbent will be required to work in the office location, 2415 North Monroe Street, Suite 400, Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Some travel may be required.

Business Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday.

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week.

Required qualifications:

  • Attach a copy of a cover letter along with a resume to your completed application.
  • Three years of work experience where the primary duties are performing professional human resource related tasks, professional administrative support, medical or financial record management, data management, research and development, project management, or training and education.
    • An accredited college or university degree can substitute: 30 hours/semester for one year of required work experience.

All documents must be in English, clear, and legible, showing all signatures and pertinent details. Foreign degrees must be validated by a third-party to meet the US equivalency requirements.   • Proficient working with MS Office software to include PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Valid Driver's License (Travel is required to attend off-site job fairs, interviews and meetings as needed).

Preference may be given to those with the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in recruitment and talent acquisition activities to include: experience creating and managing job advertisements, determining candidate eligibility for hiring purposes, creating and maintaining advertisements for employment, interviewing applicants, managing confidential information, handling personnel files, sourcing, networking, utilizing social media for targeted campaigns, or background screening processing.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system, Smartsheet, or ServiceNow.
  • Is a current Notary Public, or willing to become a Notary Public.

What you will do:

In this position the incumbent will be responsible for coordination of recruitment and selection activities for the Headquarters ESS Program Recruitment Team, including positions identified for critical and non-critical class titles. Duties include:

  • Responsible for monitoring vacancies and managing internal movement process. Position is responsible for presenting plan to fill vacancy(ies) to hiring managers as it relates to internal movement of employees and the use of viable candidate pools.
  • Responsible for sending job postings to Statewide Advertising specialist; receiving and reviewing employment applications; evaluating applicants’ education, training and work experience; determining eligibility for appointment; and coding applications accordingly for all assigned job classifications.
  • Sends automated pre-screening tests to eligible candidates; Issues list of eligible candidates for interview and interview screening tools to interview panel.
  • Participates as interview panel member to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
  • Assists in New Hire Orientation.
  • Maintains internal database to include, but not limited to, open position report, time to fill, and notification to the Statewide Advertising team for disposition of applicants.
  • Actively participates in staffing related activities and engages in cross functional projects as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT: It is the policy of the Florida Department of Children and Families that any candidate being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment, and also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and, if applicable, Chapter 408, F.S. Employment may be terminated based on the background investigation results if the candidate begins employment before the background results are received, reviewed for any disqualifying offenses, and approved by the Department. Background investigations shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for State and national criminal records check through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and may include local criminal history checks through local law enforcement agencies. Employees will be retained in state and national rap back program, providing real-time arrest hit notifications. No applicant may begin employment until the background screening results are received, reviewed for any disqualifying offenses, and approved by the Agency.
