Job Description

We're looking for a Hire Desk Assistant to join our Tool Hire team at our Branch Support Centre in Yeovil. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive team where you'll play an important role in ensuring our customers receive a seamless hire experience from enquiry through to collection.

Whether you're supporting our branches, speaking with customers or liaising with suppliers, you'll be at the heart of our Tool Hire operation, helping to deliver the outstanding service that Bradfords is known for.

As a Hire Desk Assistant, you'll:

  • Be the first point of contact for Tool Hire enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Process hire orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries, collections and off-hires with suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business.
  • Keep customers updated throughout the hire process, ensuring they receive a first-class experience.
  • Support the day-to-day administration of the hire desk, maintaining accurate records and systems.
  • Help identify opportunities to maximise hire sales by understanding customers' requirements and recommending the right solutions.
  • Work closely with branches to support the continued growth of our Tool Hire business.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.

You'll also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
  • The ability to prioritise work in a busy environment.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Experience within customer service, builders' merchants, tool hire or a similar environment would be an advantage, but just as important is your willingness to learn and develop.
