Location: 2347 Cassell Drive, Hillsdale, Ontario
Position Type: Contract Full-Time
Reporting To: Route Supervisor
Contract Term: April 6, 2026 to May 29, 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am start
Compensation: $26.37 per hour

The DZ Driver/Picker at Miller Waste Systems is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of residential yard waste including leaf and yard waste, containers, brush, and bagged materials. This seasonal role supports municipal yard waste collection programs while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and municipal regulations while delivering courteous and reliable service to the community.

Responsibilities:
In the position of DZ Driver/Picker, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Perform residential yard waste collection services including leaf and yard waste, containers, brush, and bagged materials.
• Provide residents with reliable and high-quality customer service while maintaining safe and efficient collection practices.
• Adhere to assigned collection routes and schedules to ensure all materials are collected and delivered to designated compost facilities or transfer stations.
• Follow all relevant company policies and procedures, Ministry of Transportation (MTO) requirements, Ministry of the Environment requirements, and municipal by-laws applicable to the area of operation.
• Work with employees, management, residents and members of the public in a polite and respectful manner at all times.
• Ensure waste receptacles are returned to the resident’s property in the same location from which they were collected.
• Lift and load yard waste bags, bundles, or containers weighing up to 50 lbs into the collection vehicle.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any safety or mechanical concerns.

Competencies & Qualifications:
• Must hold a valid DZ Driver's Licence, a clean Driver's Abstract and a valid CVOR.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Capable of performing repetitive and physically demanding work.
• Flexibility to work delayed finishes, overtime, weekends and statutory holidays, as required.
