Job Description

The Finance Automation Advisor is responsible for identifying, designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across Finance operations. This role serves as a key partner to Finance, Operations, Technology, and other business teams to transform manual processes into automated, sustainable solutions using tools such as Alteryx, SQL, VBA, and other reporting and analytics platforms.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can independently identify opportunities for improvement, and successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. This individual must possess strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse functional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, and high-volume business processes across Finance and related operational functions.

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain automation solutions utilizing Alteryx, SQL, VBA, and other automation and reporting technologies.

• Independently lead projects from concept through implementation, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

• Manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality solutions.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements, document processes, and develop scalable solutions that improve operational performance.

• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and process improvement initiatives.

• Develop and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that support business decision-making.

• Create process documentation, technical specifications, and user guides to support long-term sustainability and knowledge transfer.

• Proactively identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and operational risks, recommending and implementing solutions that improve accuracy and compliance.

• Support production issues, troubleshoot automation failures, and implement corrective actions to minimize business disruption.

• Promote best practices related to automation, process optimization, data governance, and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 11 to 13 years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience developing automation solutions using Alteryx, SQL, VBA, and other data management or reporting tools.

• Strong understanding of finance, accounting, operational processes, or business analytics.

• Proven ability to independently initiate, prioritize, and execute projects with minimal supervision.

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Experience working with large and complex data sets and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
