We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highway Supervisor to join our team at Pytchley Depot, Kettering (NN15 6XS).

This role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to play a key part in delivering essential highways maintenance services across the network.

Amey delivers Highways Maintenance services in line with contractual requirements, helping to ensure the road network remains safe, efficient and available for the communities we serve.

The Highway Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operational activities, supporting frontline teams and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual and quality standards. The role involves working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders to support the successful delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

The standard hours of work are 45 hours per week, based on a 5/2 rotating shift pattern covering both day and night shifts.

What You'll Do

• Supervise operational teams carrying out highways maintenance activities.
• Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.
• Monitor progress against programmes and support the efficient delivery of planned and reactive works.
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
• Support the coordination of labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure works management systems are updated as required.
• Work closely with operational teams to resolve site issues and support service delivery.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders regarding planned activities.
• Assist in the delivery of emergency response and winter maintenance operations when required.
• Promote a positive safety culture and support compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery.
• Support the development and wellbeing of team members through effective communication and guidance.

Experience

• Experience within highways maintenance, construction, civil engineering or a similar operational environment.
• Experience supervising operational teams and supporting service delivery.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience of planning, coordinating or monitoring work activities.
• Knowledge of highways maintenance operations would be beneficial.
