Job Description
Long-established infrastructure contractor, operating in the rail, civils and utilities sectors, requires a Highways Supervisor to covers schemes across the Hampshire, West Sussex and Oxfordshire areas.
The Highways Supervisor will play a key role in the management and delivery of civil engineering projects associated with the highways network.
Duties:
- Supervision of construction schemes, such as widening and repairing of roads, cycleways and footways
- Installation and repair of kerbs, edgings, paving, street furniture signs, posts, lighting columns, bollards, fencing, barriers, ironworks, chambers, road gullies, drainage and ducts
- Attend site to visit gangs and ensure their work is being carried out safely, to the required standards and in line with the programme of works as well as solving any issues on site
- Give toolbox talks to teams on site, in addition to safety briefings
- Make sure the correct PPE is worn by gangs
- Perform SHEQ audits / inspections
- Produce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Compile accurate valuations for submission to commercial team
- Keep records of work and progress on site and upload to company system
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Highways Supervisor
- SSSTS
- NRSWA Supervisor
