Successful completion of all Highway Technician level 1, 2, 3, & 4courses (i.e., construction/field &/or lab track) & construction experience requirements per the current Highway Technician MOU between ODOT & OCSEA/AFSCME;Certification in ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I, Aggregate Level 1, & Nuclear Gauge; valid driver’s license.
-Or completion of associate core program in construction technology or comparable core program; 18 months experience or training in roadway construction inspection &/or materials testing; Certification inACI Field Testing Technician Grade I & Aggregate Level 1 & Nuclear Gauge; valid driver’s license.
-Or completion of certification program from National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET); 24 months experience or training in roadway construction inspection &/or materials testing; Certification in ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I & Aggregate Level 1 & Nuclear Gauge; valid driver’s license.
-Or 36 months experience or training in roadway construction inspection &/or materials testing; Certification inACI Field Testing Technician Grade I & Aggregate Level 1 & Nuclear Gauge; valid driver’s license.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION.
The selection process for this position will include a structured interview.Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract.
The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. Medical marijuana is prohibited as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment, per section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code
