Your role and responsibilities

No two days are ever the same. You’ll manage a wide variety of tasks, so strong organisational skills, effective time management, and the ability to switch focus quickly are essential.

In this job share position, you will:

  • provide accountable leadership for the team and make informed decisions which maintain the reputation of the service
  • support and inspire team members to develop their skills and achieve their full potential
  • provide knowledgeable, experience-based advice on a range of highway-related matters
  • contribute to the financial management of the services delivered by the team
  • identify and explore opportunities to improve and expand the existing services.
  • It’s important to us to find the right partner for this job share, based on common values, motivation and passion for delivering an excellent service.

You will need

  • a genuine interest in the role and reputation of the team
  • confidence to use your own initiative and experience to guide and support the team
  • ability to identify issues early and propose effective, practical solutions, bearing in mind any wider implications
  • experience to challenge existing practices and to suggest new approaches
  • strong collaboration skills, working alongside team members to achieve the best possible outcomes
  • excellent written and oral communication capabilities.
