Highway Maintenance Technician
Locations: Alexandria, VA / Oxon Hill, MD / Fort Washington, MD
We are seeking reliable and hardworking Highway Maintenance Technicians to support roadway and bridge maintenance operations throughout the area. This position is responsible for maintaining safe highway conditions through roadway repairs, traffic control, debris removal, and seasonal weather response activities.
Responsibilities
• Perform highway and roadway maintenance duties along interstate and state routes
• Remove debris, litter, and roadway hazards
• Assist with pothole repairs, guardrail repairs, and general roadway upkeep
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
• Set up and remove traffic control devices and lane closures
• Participate in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather
• Conduct roadway inspections and report safety concerns
• Follow all company and DOT safety procedures
Qualifications
• Previous experience in highway maintenance, construction, landscaping, warehouse, or general labor preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL A is a plus
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, and weather emergency schedules as needed
• Strong attendance and reliability required
