GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is committed to providing a safe, high-quality, dependable, and efficient transportation system for the State of Wyoming. We are currently seeking a Traffic Sign Crew Leader in Basin, Wyoming, to lead the District 5 Signing Crew and support the District Traffic Strategic Plan. This position is responsible for supervising signing crew operations, including the maintenance, repair, replacement, and proper installation of highway signs. Through effective leadership and coordination of daily work activities, the Traffic Maintenance Crew Leader plays an important role in ensuring clear, accurate, and reliable roadway information for the traveling public on Wyoming’s two-lane highways and interstates.
Located in north-central Wyoming, Basin is a community rich in history, natural beauty, and community spirit. Known as the “Lilac City,” Basin has been an important part of Wyoming’s agricultural heritage since 1896 and offers a welcoming, close-knit community surrounded by wide-open spaces and scenic landscapes. The area provides exceptional opportunities for outdoor recreation, with the nearby Bighorn Mountains offering access to fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, boating, swimming, skiing, snowmobiling, and ATVing. Basin combines the advantages of small-town living with the outdoor lifestyle that makes Wyoming unique. Residents also benefit from Wyoming’s lack of a state individual income tax, allowing them to retain more of what they earn.
A career with WYDOT provides an opportunity to perform meaningful work that directly contributes to the safety, mobility, and quality of life of Wyoming residents and visitors. As a Traffic Maintenance Crew Leader, you will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team, support the maintenance of Wyoming’s transportation infrastructure, and make a positive impact on the traveling public.
