Examples of duties
This position assists with planning, coordinating, and evaluating maintenance activities across an assigned area to support safe and effective roadway operations. As a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
- Work Planning: Prepare plans and estimates for a wide range of roadway and bridge maintenance activities
- Resource Allocation: Recommend use of equipment, manpower, and materials to meet program goals
- Field Oversight: Check work in progress and completed tasks for policy, quality, and plan compliance
- Communication Support: Meet with employees, officials, and community members to explain operations and resolve concerns
- Safety Leadership: Promote safe work practices and encourage proactive accident avoidance measures
- Staff Management: Assign tasks, review performance, coach employees, and help resolve workplace issues
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
