Role: Higher Education Technology Solution Architect

Work Location: Bangalore / Noida

Work Model: Onsite (5 Days work from Office)

We are seeking a Higher Education Technology Solution Architect to design a Student Management System from scratch, covering the full student lifecycle from enquiry, admissions, enrolment, academic records, attendance, assessments, progression, fees, graduation, and alumni transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Design the end-to-end architecture for a new Student Management System.

• Define modules for admissions, enrolment, student records, curriculum, timetabling, attendance, assessment, progression, fees, and reporting.

• Create scalable data models for students, courses, programmes, cohorts, terms, modules, credits, grades, and academic history.

• Design workflows for student onboarding, course registration, approvals, academic progression, transfers, withdrawals, and graduation.

• Define integration architecture with LMS, CRM, finance, identity management, payment gateways, reporting tools, and government/statutory systems.

• Establish API-first, cloud-ready, secure, and modular architecture principles.

• Define role-based access for students, faculty, administrators, finance teams, registrars, and leadership.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy, accessibility, audit, retention, and education-sector regulatory requirements.

• Lead requirements workshops with academic, registry, admissions, finance, IT, and student support teams.

• Produce architecture blueprints, system context diagrams, data flows, integration maps, and implementation roadmaps.

• Guide technology selection, vendor evaluation, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Required Experience

• 8+ years in solution architecture, enterprise systems, or education technology.

• Strong experience designing, architecting or implementing Student Information Systems / Student Management Systems.

• Understanding of higher education business processes and student lifecycle management.

• Experience with domain modelling, workflow design, API design, data architecture, and cloud platforms.

• Knowledge of integrations with LMS, CRM, ERP/finance, IAM/SSO, analytics, and document management systems.

• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, SaaS platforms, and multi-tenant systems.

• Knowledge of FERPA, GDPR, WCAG, audit controls, and data governance.

• Experience with platforms such as Banner, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Unit4, Workday Student, Ellucian, Tribal, Salesforce Education Cloud, Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard.

• TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or GCP certification preferred.
