At Tata Steel’s Trostre Works, our electrical distribution networks are critical to everything we do. We’re now looking for a High Voltage Engineer to take ownership of those networks, shape long-term strategy, and lead the safe, compliant operation of HV and LV systems across site.
This is a senior, trusted engineering role with genuine influence - combining hands-on technical authority, leadership of specialist teams, and close collaboration with National Grid and regulatory bodies.
What you will do
As High Voltage Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and development of Trostre’s HV and LV electrical distribution networks, covering 33kV, 11kV, 3.3kV, 415Vac and 230Vdc systems. You’ll lead the inspection and maintenance teams and manage budgets of around £1m.
You’ll also fulfil the duties of Deputy High Voltage Engineer in Charge, representing Trostre internally across Tata Steel UK and externally with the Competent Authority and National Grid. The High Voltage Engineer’s responsibilities will include:
