HIGH SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION SUBSTITUTE �GUEST' TEACHER

Romeoville High School

VACANCY The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary special education substitute �guest' teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.

DATES October 26, 2026- February 19, 2027

The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for: planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must hold a State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a LBS1 endorsement
• Successful 9-12 teaching experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate recordkeeping
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques
• Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning.
• Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in co-curricular programs as a sponsor, supervisor, or coach

WORKING CONDITIONS Long-term substitute teaching assignments exceeding 20 days: $215 per day.
