NOTICE OF VACANCY

BUILDING: Invest Roosevelt High School

POSITION: Spanish – World Language Teacher / FTE 1.0

EFFECTIVE: 2026/27 School Year

Hazel Park Schools is seeking applicants for the position of Invest Roosevelt High School Spanish – World Language Teacher, for the 2026/2027 school year. The school is served by a caring and professional teaching staff providing instruction to approximately 300 students. The Hazel Park community is proud and supportive of its schools, the staff and student population.

Specific Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching certificate
• Must possess a secondary teaching certificate with a Spanish endorsement (FF)
• Demonstrate a written and spoken fluency of the Spanish language

Job Responsibilities:

• Create instructional resources for use in the classroom
• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
• Participate in ongoing training sessions
• Create lesson plans, aligned with common core and modify accordingly throughout the year
• Provide grades and administer assessments timely
• Create projects and activities that are designed to create higher level thinking
• Read and stay abreast of current topics in education
• Utilize district curriculum resources
• Tutor students on an individual basis
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Provide on-going communication to parents on student progress and classroom activities
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures

Compensation: Accordance with Invest Roosevelt Pay Schedule + $5000 signing bonus
