BUILDING: Invest Roosevelt Alternative Ed

POSITION: History/Social Studies Teacher

EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 School Year

SPECIFICS:

• 10-month, Full Time, 1.0 FTE,

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of BS/BA degree in Education
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate - with appropriate endorsement(s)
• Must be Highly Qualified in one or more of the following: History 6 - 12 (CC) and Social Studies 6 -12 (RX)
• Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise
• Demonstrates teaching and leadership skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills
• Knowledgeable and/or understanding in the use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions
• Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to create and nurture a professional community of adult learners
• Models continual improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning, and applies new learning to help all students achieve

RESPONSIBLILITIES:

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
• Provide grades and administer assessments timely.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide on-going communication to parents on student progress and classroom activities.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
• Practice proper classroom management techniques.
• Engage students in learning process, differentiate as needed.
• Other duties as directed.
