Job DetailsJob Location: Grove - Riverside, CA 92508Position Type: Part TimeThe Grove’s High School Ministry exists to create an environment and community where students can be introduced to Jesus and transformed by Him. The High School Ministry 11/12 Lead works closely with the High School Pastor to create vision and develop programs and activities for 11th and 12th grade students. This position also works closely with volunteers and students to shepherd them and tend to their spiritual care.  As a part of the High School Ministry team, the 11/12 Lead plays a significant role in strategizing, as well as assessing and evaluating youth ministry initiatives.
Reports to:         High School Ministry Pastor
Works with:       High School Ministry Team, volunteers, families, Grove ministry teams
Works:                Part Time, approximately 20 hours per week, exempt
MINISTRY LEADERSHIP — 50%
Serve as part of High School Ministry leadership team, which crafts vision, mission and values of High School ministry.
Recruit, care for, and train team of volunteer leaders for all of the 11/12th grade small groups.
Be the service lead for Saturday nights; responsible for the flow of service, communication with team, and organizing announcements.
Preach twice a month in High School ministry.
Along with the 9/10 Lead, lead all events in The Overflow; handle all of the decision-making, planning, preparation, and execution.
Assist with coordinating summer camp details, including running summer camp rec games.
TREK DEVELOPMENT — 20%
Coordinate high school outreach trek details, training, and fundraising.
Recruit and screen participants and leaders for short-term teams.
Work with the Outreach Team to plan and execute all logistics of high school treks, developing and tracking the budgets for each team.
Oversee all communication with high school trek teams, parents, and leaders.
STUDENT DEVELOPMENT — 20%
Lead and disciple high school students.
Lead a small group of students.
Attend services, summer camp, and an annual outreach trek.
OTHER MINISTRY – 10%
Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
Attend High School Ministry leadership team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings.
