Would you like to learn the ins and outs of working at a hotel? If so, our High School Co-op position is the job for you! This is an exciting way to learn about hotel operations and ensure our guests have a positive experience at our property. The High School Co-op is a position that has the opportunity to work with one or more departments across the hotel (for example, the front desk, restaurants, room operations, events) to support operational needs. Whether helping guests or associates, assisting in our rooms or the kitchen, delivering items across the property, or performing a variety of other tasks, this position is designed to give both you and our guests’ experiences that are memorable and unique. This training role is great way to get short-term exposure to the hotel business and prepare you for potential future employment in full-time roles.
No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, being punctual for your shifts, upholding quality standards, and ensuring your uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. The High School Co-op will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time; moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces), managing check-in and check-out process (read and visually verify information), and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for High School Co-ops to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.
