You are devoted to inspiring philanthropic partners to invest in medical technology and programs that advance Huntsville Hospital's mission to improve the health of those served. Passion and purpose driven, the Major Gifts Officer reports to the Director of Donor Relations and is responsible for meeting annual revenue targets by identifying, engaging, cultivating and ultimately soliciting gifts from major gift donors, thereby advancing the organizational mission and creating meaningful impact in the lives of both donors and beneficiaries of that mission. This team member is creative, innovative, and always experimenting with ways to engage and nurture employee donors and grow annual contributions yearover-year.
Education
College degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably with a major in Marketing or other business program.
Communication or Public relations preferred
Or commensurate work experience of 10 years or more in non-profit fundraising.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of fundraising experience.
Sales, hospitality and healthcare experience a plus.

• Demonstrated success in building long term philanthropic relationships while also consistently meeting fundraising goals. • Data driven approach to achieve annual fundraising goals. • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve overall team success.
• Ability to navigate a wide variety of settings and enthusiasm in taking the message of Huntsville Hospital Foundation to our Madison County employees. • Experience with Raiser's Edge or other equivalent CRM system. • Expertise in fundraising, development or related field in a non-profit environment. • Experience in medical or academic development setting strongly encouraged. • Ability to manage time and task completion effectively and under deadlines. • A willingness to work collaboratively to produce fundraising strategies and tactics. • Flexibility in hours when occasional projects involve evening and weekend work.
