
A Cashier associate must provide aggressive customer service through greeting customers as they enter the store and the timely, accurate processing of customer transactions. Also, a Cashier Associate greets customers as they approach the register area, scans merchandise, processes all sales, refunds/exchanges and uses the register to close transactions. The position also includes training, maintenance and stocking responsibilities as assigned similar to that of a CNRG’s Team Player. Since the Cashier associate will often be the first and last person a customer will encounter when shopping at CNRG’s they should greet each customer when they enter and thank each customer for shopping with us as they leave. Must consistently demonstrate CNRG’s Mission and Values. The must have good oral/written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and other associates in person and on the telephone.
Greet customers and provide a friendly, helpful experience at checkout
Operate cash registers and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately
Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with store policies
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-end area
Assist with stocking shelves near registers and monitoring inventory levels
Answer basic product questions and direct customers to appropriate departments or staff
Report any issues with registers, pricing discrepancies, or customer concerns to the supervisor
Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures
Support the team with other duties as needed
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior retail or cashier experience a plus, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic math and computer skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs
Dependable, punctual, and customer-service focused
Willingness to learn about hardware and home improvement products
