Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

Hourly rate: £16 & above dependent on experience. Negotiable.

Hours: Full-time and part-time available with flexible working hours to be discussed at interview stage.

Working from our main transport workshop near Gloucester (GL2 7ND)

Responsibilities for the job role:

• Carry out 6 weekly inspections to a high standard, ensuring all defects are identified and repaired, with a strong focus on ‘first time fix’.

• Attend to roadside breakdowns, fault find and repair

• Attend Smiths depots to fault find and repair

• Inspect and prepare vehicles for MOT, ensuring all vehicles exceed the standard required.

• Diagnose faults on vehicles and ancillary equipment.

• Carry out electrical repairs on a range of specialist commercial vehicles.

• Repair ‘damage’ defects to a high standard with a focus on upholding our brand image.
